Loloi: What was your intention or mission with this project?

MI: This project leans into a distinctly Napa-inspired aesthetic, incorporating subtle industrial elements. Our goal was to create a richly layered environment with high contrast and a strong emphasis on texture, resulting in a space that feels elevated yet groundeed.

Loloi: What is the square footage of the project?

MI: 7,892 square feet

Loloi: How many bedroom/bathrooms? Additional rooms?

MI: The home includes 5 bedrooms, 7 full bathrooms, and 2 powder rooms. Additional spaces includes a dedicated office and a fully equipped gym.

Loloi: How long did it take to design the project?

MI: The design process spanned 3 years.

Loloi: Tell us about how you intend to use the home.

MI: This is not our personal residence—it serves as our client’s primary home and family residence. We built a close connection with this client throughout the process, as she shares a similar aesthetic to ours and really trusted our vision. With three boys, the family naturally gravitated toward more masculine details, so we leaned into that with darker materials, leather accents, and steel moments that bring a grounded, tailored feel to the home while still keeping it warm and inviting.

Loloi: Briefly, what were the specific challenges about this project that you would want to highlight?

MI: One of the key challenges was ensuring that the home maintained a strong visual and spatial connection to the interior courtyard and the surrounding views. Every design choice-particularly in terms of decorative lighting-was made with this in mind. We were careful not to obstruct or detract from the views, opting instead for fixtures that were visually interesting but lightweight, incorporating materials like metal and leather to add detail without overwhelming the space.
